When going to a secure site, you might be prompted with a box similar to the one below.
To verify a secure connection when using Netscape or Internet Explorer, check for the "lock" icon in the status bar of your browser window.
It is also important to verify the vendor certificate. This can be accomplished by double clicking on the "lock" icon in the browser status window. For example, Internet Alaska's certificate appears as follows.
