(1) Port Name:

If your modem is connected to the modem port, choose "Modem Port"; if connected to the printer port, choose "Printer Port"; if connected to another port, choose that port.

(2) Idle Timeout (minutes): "None".

(3) Echo Interval (seconds): "None".

(4) Disable Auto Connect: []

If you activate this box, Netscape will NOT connect to the internet automatically.

(5) Terminal Window: []

Unless you wish to connect using a terminal window, do NOT place a check in this box.

(6) Hangup on Close: [x]

(7) Quiet Mode: [ ]

Checking this box does NOT quiet your modem during connection. Rather, a check here serves to disable PAP messaging. You do NOT want to put a check here. If this box is checked, remove the check.

(8) Long Re-Dial Delay: []

Do NOT check this box.

(9) PPP Server: Internet Alaska

If you wish to configure this control panel so that you can connect to different Internet Service Providers, you will have to choose "Untitled" here and reconfigure all information in this control panel as required by that provider.

(16) Modem Init:

AT&F1

If this INIT string does not for your modem, you may want to call your modem manufacturer for one that does.
